Hamburgers (part 2)

Why do we love hamburgers so much? I don’t know but I sure do! I really like my next recipe because it’s how we made’em in a cafe/bar called the Twin Pines Club that my brother, Michael, and I owned a hundred years ago. We called them Gourmet Health Burgers on the menu. Take a look.

HEALTHY BURGERS

1 lb lean ground beef
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons of water
1/4 cup shredded carrot
1/4 cup of finely chopped red bell pepper
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 slightly beaten egg white
1 tablespoon Daddy Hinkle’s dry rub & seasoning( Onion & Garlic or Spicy Pepper, if you like some heat)
6 whole grain buns
Lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber slices, red onion slices

  1. Combine egg white, water, bread crumbs, carrot, bell pepper, and Daddy Hinkle’s in a large bowl
  2. Add Parmesan and beef: mix. Shape int six 1/2 inch thick patties.
  3. Grill burgers on an oilde grill rack for 7 minutes. Turn and grill 7 or 8 more minutes until no pink remains.
  4. Serve burgers on buns with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, and onion.
